A camping weekend party of music, dancing, workshops and more for all ages.
The High Head Green Gatherers formed in July 2008 around a campfire. The idea was passed around to attempt a unique festival close to our homes. We found that farmers Bernadette and Jonathan Stamper were keen to be involved and so we decided to fix the date and go ahead even though we had a very short lead-up time to the festival.
The High Head Green Gatherers intend to create an intimate festival that attracts friendly free-spirited people from the local area. We aim to support local musicians and craftspeople as well as green businesses whilst also promoting the High Head Sculpture Park as a tourist attraction and exhibition space for local artists work.
The festival will be as green as possible with minimal impact on the environment and we hope that everyone that attends will help us make this happen. We have a ‘no generator’ policy and will endeavour to use alternative energy wherever possible. We will be promoting recycling throughout the festival weekend.
Many people have given their time free of charge, in particular the musicians and crafts people and without this generosity we would not have been able to have such a fantastic line-up at such a great price. Any profits made from the festival will be given to charity
The Festival
The festival has a maximum capacity of 500 and is contained within the festival field and the farm barn. There will be two stages, one in the barn and one in the Sculpture Park Cafe as well as a chillout tent, various open mike tents and acoustic stages, children’s area/activities and a healing zone, as well as many other surprises.
There will be an assortment of food to buy during the weekend and we are very pleased that the local Hesket Brewery will be supplying us with some fantastic ales in the barn bar
The Site
The farm, once part of the nearby High Head Castle Estate is situated near to Ivegill village between Carlisle and Penrith in Cumbria. The festival field is located with stunning views over the northern fells of the Lake District and is easily accessible from the M6.
